Every day is carefully planned to inspire curiosity, creativity and independence through a balance of child-led exploration and adult-guided learning. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, we support children's development across all areas of learning, helping them build the foundations for future success. Alongside literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts, children enjoy a rich programme of specialist teaching and enrichment activities. As they grow, they are introduced to Music, French and PE with specialist teachers from the main school, as well as Forest School, dance, yoga and cooking.
Set within beautiful grounds, children benefit from daily outdoor learning opportunities, exploring nature, developing friendships and building confidence through play and discovery. Every experience is designed to foster a love of learning and encourage children to become happy, curious and resilient learners.
For most children, life at The Ivies is just the beginning of their St Ives journey. We place great importance on ensuring a smooth and seamless transition into Reception. During their final year in Nursery, children take part in Reception Readiness Sessions, spending regular time in the Reception classroom, becoming familiar with staff, routines and their future learning environment. Parents are also invited to meet with key members of staff to learn more about life in the main school. This thoughtful approach helps every child move confidently into the next stage of their education, ready to thrive from day one.
