Our Pre-Prep, encompassing Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, provides the perfect balance of academic challenge, pastoral care and enrichment. Small class sizes and exceptional teacher-to-pupil relationships ensure that every child is known, valued and supported as an individual. We celebrate each child's unique strengths while helping them develop the confidence to embrace new experiences and challenges. 

These early years are crucial in building strong foundations for future success. Through a broad and engaging curriculum, children develop key skills in literacy, numeracy and communication, while specialist teaching in subjects such as Music, French, PE and Forest School adds depth, variety and excitement to every week. Learning is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and independence, helping children develop a genuine enthusiasm for discovering the world around them. 

Set within eight acres of beautiful grounds, our Pre-Prep pupils enjoy daily opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Whether exploring woodland habitats in Forest School, taking part in sport, creating artwork or performing on stage, children are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and a willingness to try something new. 

Pastoral care sits at the heart of everything we do. Our nurturing environment helps children feel happy, safe and supported, enabling them to flourish both academically and personally. We place great importance on kindness, good manners and respect for others, helping children develop the values that will guide them throughout their lives. 

By the end of Year 2, our pupils are confident, capable learners who are fully prepared for the transition into the Prep School, ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead and continue their St Ives journey with enthusiasm and self-belief.
